Analogue or PSTN Line

The traditional landline available as either single or multiple line sharing the same number also known as auxiliary working.

Basic features like Divert, Calling line ID etc can be added or bundled into the price (BT Featureline). Alternatively a telephone or telephone system can provide some of these features.

A single PSTN line is required for broadband.

Landline numbers were traditionally prefixed by a dialling code, also known as the geographic code. This code indicate where the call was coming from or going to.

Nowadays it is possible to have geographic codes for other areas at a fraction of the cost of BT's old Out of Area Exchange line Service.
